Itinerary
A desert tour that will begin in Marrakech by picking you up from your accommodation driving you towards Sahara desert and then to Fez to your departure point. You will discover the beauty of the High Atlas Mountains towards the high sand dunes where you will be waiting with a private guesthouse and your party for the first night’s stay and an overnight stay in a desert camp awaits you all for your final night out. The desert camp where enjoying a special sunset and it is reached by means of a camel trek and the experience of sleeping inside Berber desert tents to the gentle sounds of Moroccan drums whilst stargazing is an experience to hold in the memories for a long time to come.
DAY 1: MARRAKECH TO DADES
After picking you up from your Marrakech accommodation, we will drive you via the high Atlas Mountains where u can see the magic of green landscapes to Telouit, down to the KASBAH at Ait-Ben Hadou. This famous Kasbah built in the 11th century it is classified as a World Heritage site since 1987 which is several buildings that established side by side, the site had been the setting for many films including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator, Continuing to Ouarzazate known to be the door to the desert, a city that established in 1920, it is populated by Berbers who constructed many of the prominent kasbahs and building for which the area is known as the Kasbah of Taourirt diverted in 17th century. The door to the desert is the place where many Hollywood blockbuster films were shot and filmed there in one of Morocco’s biggest studios inviting many international film companies to shoot their movies like Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Living Daylights (1987)….
We may also stop off at the Atlas Film Studios. There is a 3.00-euro entrance fee to the studios, which has not been included within the price. Entry to the studios is at your own discretion. In the midday, we will be in our way towards Draa Valley and Dades Valley. Here, your party will go down into the Boulmaine Dades and accommodate ourselves at the very desert’s border country.
DAY 2: DADES- MERZOUGA
In this second day and following breakfast we will head up towards Todgha gorges, which is a large canyon with well-maintained asphalt roads, rock climbers, occasional flooding from the Dades River and several tourists enjoying a scenery like no other we may knock around under the 300 m high red slopes. We can see that the way is situated between two huge mountains. Afterwards we will continue our way to Merzouga the sea sand of Morocco, and before the sun goes down, we will use this opportunity for an hour riding on camels to the peak of the highest sand dunes in order to see one of the mean attractions in Merzouga. It is the sunset one of the most beautiful moment in life, seeing the sun walking down between the highest sands on the sea sand, a moment that constructed in our visitors mind.
OVERNIGHT STAY IN A BERBER CAMP
However sleeping in desert tents will be an unforgettable moments that drive you through the past life, the desert camp stay is a special one like no other. The camels are roped up, the food of Moroccan dishes is served, the sounds of Berber drums beat gently in the desert night and the sky turns an inky black before producing a glittering of stars.
DAY 3 : MERZOUGA TO FES
After a special night that was served in desert camp, following breakfast we will drive back to Merzouga in order to head back towards the spiritual city of Fez along the way via the High Atlas, we will pass through one of the world’s cleanest and most fascinating cities in the Moroccan desert, called Ifrane. There may be an opportunity to see the Ziz Valley and on to Fes to arrive in time for the evening supper and to put the end of your private tour.
